Learn at Educational Places
Museum
Take your kids to a museum and read to them the different descriptions of the displays. They will learn a lot, see different things that may spike a new interest, and they will understand our society through learning about the past. They will learn more about themselves by learning about living history.

Story Time
You can take your children to an organized story time (or you can do it at home). Remember to read the book in a very histrionic way and provide a small activity (usually arts and crafts) to tie the knowledge between the story and a real life activity.
Visiting historic sites can prove very educating, even if you have very young kids, everything from behavior to the most random details and information on whatever you are visiting will be a great learning opportunity for everyone in the family.
